Disc Auction For a Good Cause

USDGC Partner Dennis Lynn is auctioning some of his most collectible discs to help raise money for his son-in-law, Mike Bennett, who has inoperable cancer.

More about Bennett: Earlier this spring, doctors discovered that Bennett, who is 35 years old, had cancer in his lower back. The cancer diagnosis, which blindsided the family according to Lynn, has left Bennett and his family with increasing expenses. Mike Bennett and his wife Ashley (Lynn’s daughter) live in Chattanooga, TN, and have three young children. Here’s a picture of Mike and his family before the cancer diagnosis. 

Funds Raised: Money raised through the auction of these discs and other collectibles will assist Mike Bennett and his family during this difficult time.

Disc: 2015 Nate Sexton Color Glow Champion Firebird

Disc Details: Retired from Nate Sexton’s actual bag, this is the exact Firebird used to ace Hole 9 at the 2017 Texas States Disc Golf Championship. Comes with index card from Sexton authenticating disc.

Condition: Heavily used by Nate Sexton from 2017-2020.

Disc: Ken Climo Signed Halo Star Wraith

Disc Details: Early run of Halo Star Wraith. Bought in 2020. 173-175. Noticeable dome. Purple rim color. Holographic stamp foil. Signed by disc golf legend Ken Climo. To the disc owner’s knowledge this is one of very few Halo Star Wraiths signed by Climo.   

Condition: Never used.

Disc: Nate Sexton’s Retired Star Destroyer (Ate-Oh-Ate)

Disc Details: Retired from Nate Sexton’s actual bag, this Star Destroyer was used at the 2018 Las Vegas Challenge to eagle Hole 7 twice. 175 grams. Domey. Stamp is the logo of the Ate-Oh-Ate Hawaiian restaurant in Portland, Oregon. Penned “N. Sexton” on inner rim disc. Nate Sexton handwritten COA photos included.

Disc: Circa 2005 Ken Climo Early INNcolor Champion Orc

Disc Details: This Champion Orc is one of the early examples of the INNcolor process and was one of a limited batch given to Ken Climo to commemorate his major championship victories at that point. According to Dennis Lynn, very few were made for Climo in the Orc and Firebird molds. Comes with Ken Climo handwritten COA, card which is also rare, Lynn says. “He has never handwritten his thoughts about his discs ever.”

Disc: Nate Sexton’s Retired Mini Series Star Rat

Disc Details: Retired from Nate Sexton’s actual bag, this Star Rat with Team Innova Mini stamp was used primarily during the winter of 2019 and spring 2020 including the 2020 Las Vegas Challenge. 175 grams. Flat. Sexton says he aced Hole #3 at the Evergreen State College disc golf course with the disc in March of 2020.  Noticeable wear. Penned “N. Sexton” on inner rim disc. Nate Sexton handwritten COA included. Also featured in 2020 Nate Sexton In The Bag Video (below).

Disc: Ken Climo Signed Champion Roc3 (Earlier Run)

Disc Details: This Champion Roc3 has a lot going for it. It’s got the USDGC Angled Crest logo from 2020, it’s made from older Champion plastic, and it’s signed by one of the game’s greatest champions, Ken Climo. According to disc owner, Dennis Lynn, Climo signed this disc (indicating each year he won the USDGC) in a manner he rarely did. 176 grams. Flat.

Disc: Nate Sexton’s Retired Color Glow Champion Roc3

Disc Details: Retired from Nate Sexton’s actual bag, this Color Glow Champion Roc3 was used approximately from 2016 to 2017. Flat. 180 grams. Penned “R3”. This disc feels like pure butter. Sexton Sharpied “N. Sexton” on inner rim of disc. Nate Sexton handwritten COA included.

Disc: Iron Leaf Open DX Roc Signed By Ken Climo

Disc Details: According to disc owner, Dennis Lynn, this DX Roc is from a special run commemorating Ken Climo’s ‘Iron Leaf hit.’ This Iron Leaf hit was made famous by Gregg Barsby’s 2011 YouTube impression of Climo in which Barsby (impersonating Climo) recounts a Hole at the 2010 Worlds where nothing went right including an ‘Iron Leaf’ that struck down his tee shot. This Iron Leaf disc is one of the few that Climo signed, says Lynn. 180 grams. Noticeable dome. Climo signature on back of disc along with “I birdied the rest of them though!” Ken Climo handwritten COA included.

Disc: Nate Sexton’s Retired Star Sidewinder

Disc Details: This Star Sidewinder was retired from Nate Sexton’s actual bag. According to disc owner, Dennis Lynn, Sexton used this disc during the 2019 USDGC, in particular for his upshot on Hole 18 during Round 2. Signed by Sexton. Minimal dome. 175 grams.

Disc: Champion Firebird Signed by Ken Climo

Disc Details: The Champion Firebird is one of 12-time World Champ Ken Climo’s signature discs. Signature discs takes on new meaning with this dark red beauty because it has Climo’s actual signature on it as well. Minimal dome. 171 grams. New condition. Disc owner, Dennis Lynn said this Firebird was “from Champ’s personal stash.”

Disc Details: Retired from Nate Sexton’s actual bag, this Echo Star Xcaliber was used as his primary forehand driver during the USDGC either in 2018 or 2019, according to Sexton. Significant dome. 175 grams.  Penned “*E-XC”. Sexton Sharpied “N. Sexton” on inner rim of disc. Nate Sexton handwritten COA photos included.

Disc Details: Retired from Nate Sexton’s actual bag, this Mortar was used as his overstable mid range in the 2017 and 2018 seasons. Very rare stamps used for this disc that include: 2015 Sexton Firebird stamp and Innova Air Force mini stamp (On top). Big Jerm stamp / sharpie on back. Flat. 175 grams. Sexton Sharpied “N. Sexton” on inner rim of disc. Nate Sexton handwritten COA photos included. Featured in Sexton’s 2017 In My Bag.

Disc Details: Retired from Nate Sexton’s actual bag, this disc was used as his primary roller disc at one point. Modest dome. 175 grams. Penned “*SW”. Sexton Sharpied “N. Sexton” on inner rim of disc. He wrote that his fondest memory of the disc was hitting the pole on a par 4 in Southern California off the tee. Nate Sexton handwritten COA photos included.

Lynn said this disc was among the first Sexton Firebirds that Nate Sexton received and among the first Sexton Firebirds molded. 175 grams. Red Glitter stamp. Disc: 2021 Japan Open Swirly Star Invictus

Disc Details: Provided by the Innova Only Collector Group, this Swirly Star Invictus was from a limited series commemorating the 2021 Japan Open. However, the 2021 event was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and ultimately canceled. The Japan Open is now planned to resume in 2023. This is an awesome disc that’s tied to an event that never actually happened! 173-175 weight. Noticeable dome.

Disc Details: Provided by the Innova Only Collector Group, this Black Tour Series McPro Aviar is a gem from nearly 10 years ago.  Flat. 173-175 weight.

Condition: Appears to be in new condition. There are a few scuffs present, which is not uncommon for black discs.
